Tapco made the "best" ones before they died a few years ago.the truth is there are no "good" aftermarket magazines. The SKS was never designed to take a detachable magazine, so everything available is a cludge. If you want detachable magazines go buy an AK or one of the handful of Norincos that were factory built for AK mags.In theory matching parts means the gun would perform better, though with some older rifles, quality control wasn’t great back then so it may not matter. Biggest thing for matching numbers is value of being original. My pre import ban, matching Russian mosin is worth a lot more than my mismatched norinco sks from a pawn shop.
