If you look at the module with the terminals pointing down, the two on the left go to the pickup coil (black and blue on my '86). Try this: "Rotate the motor while watching the intake valve open and close. Go to the T mark on the flywheel. This is TDC on the compression stroke. The bearings are usually about the last thing to fail on a Prairie 400. I would check the cam chain tightener and adjust it according to the manual. Set the valve lash to proper clearances, as I would guess it is overdue too. Also, I would pull the belt converter cover and check the belt and clutches for wear.
